Elaine McLaurin

Elaine McLaurin, a Chicago native, attended Columbia College, majoring in Performing Arts Teaching and Choreography. Elaine is a former member of the Joel Dancers with whom she toured, performed & taught master classes around the world for eight years. Elaine’s choreography set for Hubbard Street has been showcased throughout the city including Dance for Life Navy Pier, the Chicago Bulls half time championship game ceremony and at the Shubert Theatre, now known as the CIBC Theatre. She has performed in Bernie Mac’s tour “Who Ya Wit”, the HBO special “Midnight Mac” starring Bernie Mac, “Black Nativity" at the Goodman Theatre and with Donald Lawrence’s Bible Story, choreographed by Kirby Reed. Elaine is currently the Dance Director for Douglass Park Cultural Center where she found her love of teaching dance to youth and teens. Elaine is excited to be teaching at GUS®!
